Anything but what it is.
I used to love the name Nicole. Then I met someone unpleasant with that name.
I love Hayley as a first name, but that wouldn't go well with my surname being Haley. Hah.

I would fancy something unusual though, like Cady or Heather. Or even something like Echo.

It's been said I look like a Naomi.

Hayley Haley could either be the lamest name ever, or the most badass mothafucka name ever, depending on how you would pull it off and introduce yourself.

I once tried to explain to someone that when I see a name spelled twice in different ways, I see it as a whole new name. We were talking about the spellings of Katherine or Kaitlin; I forget now. She thought I was completely off my rocker. Since then I have not mentioned this, and have said little to express how important a task I feel naming something is. It's nice to know I've found some other loonies.

Audrey. Or Olivia.

My name fuckin' rocks.

Ricc
My mom always favored Olivia, also.  She tried to convince me to name Angelina that.

I'm pleased with my name, and I don't wish it was any different.  I think it suits me well.

My brother and his fiance are already picking out baby names (...), and they want their first daughter (they want many, many little Riccobene-Jarboe spawn) to be an Olivia. I hope by some divine power Olivia is as awesome as I'd want anyone with such an awesome name to be. Then I can be the mad auntie who inspires in her a love of learning and helps her to see the magic in the world and the creativity to contribute to it.  8)

Oh hell. I don't care who she is. I'm just excited to (someday) be a mad auntie.

<unrelated to thread but sort of related to above rant>

... I kind of want to be Miss Frizzle when I grow up.

Yes.

In spite of the fact that I knew at least a DOZEN other Jennifers, I like my name. I can't imagine being called something else. My close friends and family call me Jennie, and my grandmother calls me Jennie Jean... my mother didn't want our initials to spell anything, so it was Jennifer Jean and Laura Lee... you  would thing we were southern girls, but my family is all in New England, so so much for that. If I HAD to chose another name, it would be Catherine. Not sure why, but I've always liked the name.

what middle name?
catherine casey?
catherine celeste?
catherine cinderella?
catherine collette?
catherine cullen?
catherine cynthia?

wise mother.

my mom's maiden initials were DAC, married was DAT
my sister's maiden initials were BAT, married was BAD

i would be luna ^^ haha as if that wasn't obvious.

current name: katilyn. i hate it. i always think people are talking to me, and they never are. and everyone spells it differently. including me. so i have to spell it out every time. and at the "t...i..." people always go..."wait..." and then i have to say "yes, k...a...t...I...l.." and i really don't like it.

i particularly enjoy my middle name, eileen zagaria. it is my full grandmother's name. and if i had it my initials would be KEZ. and that would be freakin cool. but instead they're KEZB. i'd like to drop my last name all together and be luna eileen zagaria. that'd be fun.

i'm not even irish, but my last name's buckley. well, i was irish, or my family was, about 400 years ago. other than that, they've just stayed in new jersey. i really have more italian blood than irish seeing as all of my mother's side still lives in either italy or cicily.

so that's my rant. and it's pretty late. and i got shit to do tomorrow. goodnight shadowbox :'(

I am Kelly Anne legally; Kellie Anne by choice so when I email people I don't get replies addressed to Mr K Broadbent (Kelly is a pretty common guys name in NZ). Kellie is more definitively female. I was almost Marianne, but there was an arguement over whether to spell it Marion or Marianne. Thank fucking god. I hate that shit. Marianne would have been better, but Marion? Barf. Neither name would have suited me at ALL.

I don't love my name, but I can't imagine being called anything else. If I was, I'd want a hippie love-fest name like Celeste, or Rose, or Saphron. Something that smacks of pot and daisys.

i also really like names that begin with a's. like aristea, astrid, ava...
i don't think i would ever rename myself an a name though. i love them too much, they're reserved for something that's way more beautiful.

I like my name just fine, although it makes me way too easily identifiable/mispronounceable.  But then again, that's my whole family (my dad gives his name as Tom when we make reservations though, it's hilarious).

For others: Shiloh, Shyla, Lexie, Jordan... I was in Sweden for a semester and fell in love with Frida, Anne-Sofie

Although I might just end up naming my child Fruit Basket or Rainbow Child.

i used to hate my name when i was younger. kids used to make fun of it and teachers could NEVER pronounce it...
now i love it. i'ts completely unique and i think it fits me well :) oh by the way my name is Cascadia Wild

i tend to lean towards T names and unique ones for boys like trent, trevor, tyler, and jade (was a friend's name. his full name was jaden, just called him jade)

i like leona, meridian, mari (not pronounced mary) for girls

Cocky Bastard.

it was a running joke and handle i had on another forum many, many....a fuck long time ago. damn. i was mean. and it fit better than a pussy mitten. >_>'

but at this time, i'm very sure my name should have been Arian. it's deliciously androgynous. i really, really like "A" names for some reason. hmmmmmmm. i'd wish for my name to have been Arian St. Clair. it's just so perfect and lovely. Carmen is another nice choice. if i have a child, it's name will be Arian, i suppose.

and Catherine is cornflower blue, and Katherine is a deep, rich auburn, ftw.

I was named Heather, which seems boring to me. At least I was neither a Carrie nor a Jennifer. These names were over popular in my grade level.

When I was younger, I used to fancy the name Bianca. It sounded rich and different.
