I prefer the term Spear of Destiny, but yes, it is indeed one of the Holy Lances believed to have peirced the side of Christ. This particular one however, appears to have belonged to Constantine the 'Great'. Wrapped in the gold is a nail that historians say is consistant with a 1st century AD Roman nail.
I want it.
When I hear or read the words Spear Of Destiny I think Kirk Brandon (maybe that's me showing my age)
I'm guessing as secondhand spearheads go that this one isn't cheap & doesn't crop up on ebay much.
If you don't mind me asking do you want it for religious reasons or historical?
Political.
Ok now i'm curious as to why you want this artifact.
Wait, didn't Hitler own it for a while? I bet that's it. No idea why anyone would want to own something he did, but....
I have heard that but I thought it was possibly a myth.
Aah, well, I only know it cos Wikipedia says it's so xD
Wikipedia is about as accurate as Helen Keller with a spud gun.
Here's another source.
http://www.ufodigest.com/news/0709/spear-of-destiny.phpAnd it's from a UFO website, so you know it's scientific.
But I'm fairly sure he actually was in possession of the spear, as it was found and currently is in Vienna.
Anyway, there are a few reasons.
First of all, it's a rather beautiful object, and I have some bizzare tendency to want random pretty items.
Secondly, it
did change the course of human history, [if] it was actually being used to nail Jesus to the cross, and seeing as it [may have been] Constantine's spearhead, he might of actually used it in combat, and random chance could have led to him getting a banjy spear, resulting in his death. So, either way it's an incredibly important artifact. Also, Keanu Reaves had one in that awesome, but unfaithful movie
